ENGLISH AS A GLOBAL LANGUAGE OF COMMUNICATION

There is a good quotation “how many languages you know so many times you are a man”. People should learn as much foreign languages as possible as it makes the outlook wider.

English is spoken in British Isles, the USA, Australia, New Zealand and much of Canada and South Africa. Two hundred years ago only a million people spoke English. Through the centuries, as a result of various historical events, English spread throughout the world. Today, English is represented on every continent.

Knowing this language brings many opportunities to life. As for me I know Ukrainian language as it is my mother tongue, Russian and English and it helps me in different life situations.

Understanding English or other language helps you to listen to foreigh music or to watch your favourite cartoon or film in original. It brings new emotions and develop your skills. Also fans of computer games use English in most of their games, so if you want to play online you need to know it.

Moreover I think English is very important when you want to get a good job, because today English is the world standard language. Over 70% of the world’s scientists read English. About 85% of the world’s mail is written in English.

In conclusion I want to tell than English is an international language is for 50 years and it will bw in its place for next 50 years. So we need to understand that learning and knowing English equals our bright future.

TEENAGE PROBLEMS
It has never been easy to be a teenager. It is the time when we receive our education and try to learn the right from the wrong.

Teens often face a lot of problems in their relations with parents, teachers and friends. Sometimes they are teased or bullied by their elder brothers or other peers. They also need to be free and independent.

There are young people who join teenage groups or gangs in order to express themselves, and to feel accepted and secure. Sometimes teens start using drugs or alcoholic drinks and committing crimes.

From another side young girls want to be as "perfect" as their idols like some famous stars or actresses. In most of cases girls choose bad metods for their goals like different dangerous diets. It can lead to serious problems such as anorexia and bulimia.

Most teenagers don’t know how to cope with their problems because they don’t feel like sharing their emotions and discussing them with their parents or friends. Young people are usually afraid of disapproval and misunderstanding. In this case it may be useful to consult a professional psychologist who can offer some good advice and probably give a helping hand.
